Irish Dexters:
Currently, we do not have any weaned calves available. We will be weaning some fine bull calves this summer,
black and dun. These HN tested black and dun bull calves will be available for $650.
We are
offering our grassfed Dexter steers for sale. These steers are gentle, compact and will be ready for the freezer in the Fall.
As we are not "certified" organic, we nonetheless raise our animals as organically as possible. No bagged feed,
no added hormone implants, they fit in your freezer and taste absolutely wonderful! Priced according to age, please contact
us for more information.
FYI: Grassfed Dexters typically have a 55% carcass yield, grainfed
are 60%. These averages are higher than "typical" beef cattle. (The last Dexter we butchered actually trimmed out
to 63%, and that was on just grass and hay!)
We have
about a dozen chunky bucklings, some ready for market now. Others will be ready mid-summer. On-farm price is $1.25/lb live
weight. Sold out! Will have 4 market-ready wethers available at the
end of summer.
